When you get a golden opportunity, never miss it.
When I knew I could come back around the time of my daughter’s arrival, I took this travel opportunity and earned tangible exposure. Whenever my wife and I recollect these memories, we also recollect that tough decision — the balance between growth abroad and being present for what mattered most at home.
The twist came after returning to Chennai. On the same go-live date, my daughter also decided to meet us. I completed the first half of the go-live activities, and around 4 AM — just as I was about to sleep — I got a call from my wife: she was travelling in an ambulance for the delivery.
I decided to start immediately, and slept through the train for the whole day. By evening I met both my wife and my daughter. And on that same day, I returned to finish the second half of the go-live activities — successfully.
This photo at the Golden Gate is not only a travel memory. It is a reminder that some doors open once, and saying yes can hold both ambition and family in the same chapter.
